A cleanser that can remove impurities and make-up while leaving your skin refreshed and without irritation can be hard to find. La Prairie offers the Foam Cleanser, a water-activated foaming cleanser. While most foaming cleansers are activated with water, and cleansers can usually be purchased at a local drug store for just around $6, we were interested to find out what sets La Prairie apart from the rest.

The Foam Cleanser by La Prairie claims to deeply cleanse and hydrate the skin. It is supposed to remove all make-up and impurities. The “sumptuous” cleanser as the company describes it, is formulated with plant extracts that are supposed to purify, refresh, and soothe the skin. La Prairie even suggests that a small amount of the Foam Cleanser can be doubled as a shaving cream.
After using hundreds of cleansing foams, you may find that many actually do not remove make-up and leave behind a residue. Other cleansing foams contain so much alcohol that they will dry out your skin, leaving it too tight with absolutely no hydration. La Prairie suggests that their foam will hydrate the skin, remove make-up, and debris without stripping down it’s natural moisture. After applying the formula, the company claims that your skin will feel exhilarated and remarkably clean.

La Prairie recommends applying the Foam Cleanser at least twice a day, in the morning and in the evening. They suggest using a small amount, working into a lather and massaging in gently. After rinsing and patting the face dry, it is recommended to follow up the application with a toner, serum, or moisturizer from the luxury brand’s collection.

The Foam Cleanser doesn’t really boast anything too groundbreaking in comparison to some of the other La Prairie formulas; it is not multi-faceted offering toning, and brightening but, considering it is a luxury product line the price may not be too steep for those looking for a higher-end product with a well-known reputation.

I always say in my reviews that not every product is for every person. I’ve been fortunate that most of the skin care items in my monthly boxes have worked well for me. This is no exception and were I to splurge and purchase any full sized item from the La Prairie box, this would be the first item on my list. My skin feels amazing after cleansing, and the tiny amount required goes a long way. I am sure the full sized tube would last me a few months.

I usually associate foam cleansers as being for dry skin types. My skin is combination and using this the first few days was pretty good, gave my skin a squeeky clean feeling. After about a week, by lunch time, my face was looking like an oil slick! I also prefer to use face cleansers that can be used on both face and eyes-I tried to use this on my eye makeup and it really hurt. I can think of lots of high quality products that do a good job for half the price. A lot of money for a just okay product.

This is so far the best cleanser I’ve used ever! My face feels fresh and clean yet moisturizing, amazing! And the product itself smells great. Would recommend this to my friends.

Nothing special. I used to be thrilled by La Prairie products and lately I notice obvious decline in quality. This cleanser dries my combination skin and doesn’t clean as well. Disappointing.

This cleanser has a kind of tight foam. a sort of concentrated foam. I had been using philosophy purity made simple. My pores were looking large. This cleanser is making them look smaller again. it just ‘feels’ better on the face. Maybe I just needed a change but I am amazed that a cleanser can do this in such a short time.
