Finding a great moisturizer takes time and patience. Many products claim to deliver phenomenal results but, very few actually deliver. When shopping for a moisturizer, it is ideal to find a multi-faceted product that delivers hydration, protects against free-radicals, and one that provides constant continuous hydration. Crème De La Mer claims that their moisturizing cream was “born from the sea”. Formulated with the brand’s Miracle Broth ™, the company suggests that moisturizer has the power to improve lines, wrinkles, and firmness in just a short time.

La Mer’s Miracle Broth™ was created by Dr. Max Huber, an aerospace physicist. The company claims that it is a mixture of sea kelp and other natural ingredients that are fused with light and sound, causing them to be more potent. According to La Mer, the miracle ingredient was discovered after 6,000 experiments were performed. Creme De La Mer promises to be the answer the call for healing and on its website considers itself to be the “ultimate ritual of renewal”.

Crème De La Mer includes Seaweed Extract, Lime Extract, and Sesame Seed Oil as well as some additional extracts. Crème De La Mer suggests that its product can treat even the most dry skin with its unique formula. Although Crème De La Mer has a lengthy history, certain ingredients in the moisturizer have been found to cause irritation for some user. Though touted by the company as a miracle cure from the sea, further examination into the ingredients found in Crème De La Mer indicate that the components are readily available in regular moisturizing formulas. Key ingredients have been identified as Petrolatum, Mineral Oil, and Wax, elements that some have claimed do not justify the current price point of Crème De La Mer in relation to its effectiveness.

The point of a moisturizer is to keep your skin soft and supple with minimum irritation while providing added benefits of protection against stressors as well as healing for the signs of aging. A moisturizer cannot be effective if it is unable to be fully absorbed into the layers of the skin.

My product arrived and I was so excited. I am not sure if I am applying it correctly, it says to warm it in your hands until its translucent. Seems my hands are getting most of the product. Am I doing it right? Is any of it even getting on my face? Does anyone have any tricks to using this creme?

I have been using La Mar for about ten years now, I have had countless people stop me and ask “what do you use on your skin! ” I am 57 and have beautiful skin, not one line or wrinkle! just smooth glowing skin. I also bring it down my neck and chest, this is a must!

    Many firsts here:
First time I write a review for a cream.
First time I can say “It really works!”
First time I got my money’s worth.
    Thank you La Mer.

I have really sensitive skin, prone to be oily and dry at the same time. My skin particularly in the winter time gets very red. This is the only moisturizer that I have tried that reduces the redness, soothes the skin and does not cause any breakouts. I’ve also noticed my skin is smoother and in general much happier since I’ve been using the product. I found that it works better at night its a little too heavy for daytime.

This product is great, especially for dry skin. It makes my skin very soft and moist. A very thin layer is enough, otherwise you would feel greasy.

I wasn’t sure if I wanted to try this but read about how popular it was so I gave it ago. I used this for the last year and I have been satisfied. My skin feels good after applying it.

Disappointing. Pores still look gargantuan. This may sound silly but the jar design is a little bland. My BB cream does a better job at minimizing my pores and fine lines as far as I can tell. I know this is an age old product but it certainly isn’t age-defying.

This moisturizer works well. I am 34 and started seeing some fine lines around my eyes and when I apply this crème, they look slightly reduced. I broke out when I first started using it, I guess it just didn’t agree with my skin but after a while things improved.
